LLLC Inspiration Monday---Back to School!

Happy Monday y'all (said with a Texas accent)! Well, we are finally in Texas and still trying to dig our way out of the never-ending stacks of boxes! I realize I'm am a borderline hoarder!! Yes, folks....we are talking about 18 years of stuff....some of which I still haven't sorted through. Well no more I tell ya! It is my goal to get through every last box and do some major purging!!

On top of the big move, this past week we have been trying to get all the school paperwork filled out and the back-to-school shopping done. It's been busy to say the least so I have been a little MIA with my crafting. I think I have unpacked enough boxes to get me going. It's an unorganized, hot mess at the moment, which makes crafting a little frustrating. But, I did find an IKEA store about an hour from me, so all those PINTEREST ideas are piling up, LOL! Now I just need the moolah and the time to get it all organized! Wish me luck!!

Today's theme at La-La Land Crafts is:

BACK TO SCHOOL!

And for us, it literally is back to school!! Bright and early this morning!! Come on....who's bright idea was it to start school at 7:45am for an elementary kid?! My child doesn't want to go to bed before midnight, even if we get him up at the crack of dawn! I'm pretty sure a nap is going to be in my future. :)

For my project, I used the super-adorable Back to School Luka. He so reminds me of Isaiah with his backpack and skateboard. Isaiah wants a skateboard so badly, but he's clumsy y'all! I mean it....he falls standing up, haha!

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, chalk
Hair: E49, E47, E44, E43
Shirt/Shorts: E84, E81
Sweater: B02, B05, YR07, YR09
Tie: YR07, YR09
Backpack: YR07 YR09, N8, N6, N4
Socks: B05, B02
Shoes: N8, N6, N4
Skateboard: R29, R27, R24, N8, N6, N4

I used a really easy template from RePlayGround to make this Pencil Case. I also used the Heart Fence Die at the bottom behind Luka. It's such a versatile die!! The paper came from my stash.
Here's the top opened so you can see the pencils inside. I'm sure my little boy is going to confiscate this when he sees it to add to his other pencil holder.

Now don't forget, you can play along with us by adding your creations to the LLLC Customer Gallery. And, to stay up-to-date on the latest and greatest things happening with LLLC and also to be the first to know about sales, you should "LIKE" our Facebook Page and LLLC FB Group. CropStop Challenge 86: Back to School

Happy Thursday y'all! Well I'm in the new house in Texas, but man are there a lot of boxes to unpack!!! It's leaving me stressed, depressed and frazzled! I want everything to be in it's place already and it's frustrating searching through boxes to try and find what I'm looking for since I didn't pack it. Usually the packers are a little more detailed on their descriptions, but this time around they were in such a hurry they just wrote really vague things. On top of it, they didn't always put "like" items together. The pot might be in one box, but the lid in another....things like that.

Well enough complaining! Like a friend said...."One box at a time!" It's really the truth and that's how I need to approach it....even if all I get to unpack is 1 box...at least it's one less box to worry about. I have the bedding and towels washed so that is definitely a plus!

Today at CropStop, our challenge for you is:

BACK TO SCHOOL!!

My Oklahoma peeps started school this week, but here in Texas, school doesn't start until Monday, Aug. 27th. At first I was really happy about the late start so Isaiah could get a little adjusted in the new house. But now he's bored....really, really bored!! So school will be a big relief...for BOTH of us!!

For my project today, I used this awesome FREEBIE from Whimsie Doodles called Pencil Pixie. She was perfect for my Pencil Box Project. I printed her on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics and chalk.

Copics & Chalk:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Hair: E49, E47, E44
Headband/Dress: R22, R24, R27, R29, Stardust Stickles
Wings: R11, Stardust Stickles
Shoes: N8, N6, N4, Stardust Stickles
Pencil: YR21, Y21, YR23, B99, R05, E53

Here's my project for this week.....a Pencil Box Holder!! I found this awesome template by Ilina Creations called First Day Ensemble. I knew when I saw it that I just had to have it!! I know I'll use this so many times throughout Isaiah's school years!! For this project, I did add an "eraser" and I used the insert to hold pencils. But I think it would be cute as a candy holder too (without the insert)!!

CropStop Supplies Used:
Core-dinations Cardstock
Scor-pal & Scor-tape
X-press It Blending Card
Copics
Stardust Stickles

I used Core-dinations Cardstock and I love it!! It has a textured surface and if you emboss with it, you can sand the embossing to reveal a different color in the core!! Here's a side view with the top opened.

And, a top view so you can see the insert which holds the pencils in the middle better. Of course this one is not filled up, so the pencils are falling to the side.

My little boy has since taken it over and added all sorts of stuff to the outside and inside!! He LOVED it as soon as he saw it all put together, and asked if he could have it. When I said yes (I know, I'm crazy), his eyes got all big and he said I was the best Momma ever!! Then he said I needed to take that girl image off, LOL!

He's hugging it, haha!

Now don't forget you have a week to play along with us!! Head on over to the CropStop blog to link up your "Back to School" card/project! And, remember you can get all your crafty needs/wants fulfilled in the CropStop Store!! There have been lots of new goodies going up so head over there and check them out!!

Have a great week and see you back here soon for more "Back to School" projects!

Hugs,
Rosie :)

Happy Sunday everyone!! Today is a special day at the Yumi and Fumi Handmade Crafts Blog because TODAY starts the very first official challenge. The Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Blog will be having bi-weekly challenges, and YES, there will be some prizes involved, HIP, HIP HOORAY!! :)

The lucky winner will receive 1 Y&F Rubber Stamp of our choice!

Our challenge for the next two weeks is an easy one!

ANYTHING GOES!!

Since this is the very first challenge, you can use any image you want!! Told ya...EASY PEASY!!

But please take the time to review all of the challenge rules HERE to make sure you qualify (the rules are under "Challenge Info" at the top tab). You have until Saturday, September 1st, 11am PST to link up your new project (one entry per blog). We will pick one Prize Winner and 3 Top Picks.

Starting with the 2nd challenge on September 2nd, you WILL have to use a Yumi & Fumi Handmade or Sister Stamps image to qualify for the prize drawing.

Also, you'll definitely want to come like the Y&F Handmade Crafts Facebook Fan Page so you can stay up-to-date, get your challenge reminders, and share your creations!

For my big project today I decided to use the ever-versatile and adorable Fumi with Present!! I think her hair is so darn cute!! :)
Copics/Chalk:

Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, chalk
Eyes: E39, E44
Hair: E47, E44
Kimono: R24, R27, R29, R37
Sash: Black, N8, N6
Gift/Shoes: YR24, YR23, YR21

For my project today I made a 12-Drawer Easel Card Dresser...say that 10 times fast, LOL! I made one of these a long, long time ago and when I started to make this one I realized why I haven't made them more often. They take quite a bit of time, patience and cardstock!! I hope to do a tutorial on it soon. I did add some instruction to my original post HERE.
I used black textured Bazzill Cardstock for the matchboxes/holders, side panels, and top/bottom panels. To give it some sturdiness I cut out 6x6 chipboard and covered it on both sides with the black cardstock to make the base and top panels. Then I made an Easel Card to sit on top of the top panel. The gold dp is from The Paper Studio. The flowery dp is actual some free digital paper I found online at the Canon site HERE.
The roses and black swirls are from Recollections. The ribbon came from my stash. The sentiment is from CTMH. It's hard to see it, but it says:
"Yesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a Gift
That's why we call it the Present."
I thought it went perfectly with this stamp. :) I stamped it in Gold ink and then wrote over it with a Gold Sharpie Paint Pen to make it brighter and easier to see. The knobs are wooden ones from Hobby Lobby. I used my Gold Sharpie Paint Pen to color them and then glued them to the front of each matchbox.

Here's a back view so you can see that the drawers go all the way around....3 on each side.
Hope you enjoyed my project!! I'm finally getting settled into our new house. There's still lots of cleaning and unpacking to do, but at least I have some of the kitchen done so I can start cooking again!! My wonderful MIL is coming at the end of the month for 2 weeks to help me unpack and get organized. I can't wait!! I'll be back on another day to share house pics!

Don't forget, for a chance at the prize drawing be sure to link up your creations on the Y&F Handmade Crafts Blog (please provided a direct link to your project, not just to your blog).

We hope you have a great time creating and I can't wait to see what you do!!

Hugs!!
Rosie

CropStop Challenge #84: Fruit as Inspiration!

Happy Thursday everyone! Well, the packers came and did their job and now we're "hotel living" for the next several days. Not much longer and we'll be moved. Lots of emotions this week!

Today's challenge at CropStop is:

FRUIT AS INSPIRATION!

I decided to used the colors in a watermelon: Red, Green, & Black.

I used this super cute Tea Time Marci and colored her with Copics.
Copics Used:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, chalk
Hair: E49, E47, E44
Red: R29, R27, R24, R22
Black: Black, N8, N6, N4

The awesome dps are from a new pad I got called Echo Park "This & That." It's got some really gorgeous papers in that pad....thinking I should have bought more than one, LOL! You can see my list of CropStop supplies below.
CropStop Supplies Used:
Copics
X-Press It Blending Card
Martha Stewart Border Punch
Memory Box La Rue Heart Die

In the side view, you can see I raised Marci on pop-dots.

Well, that's all for me folks! I'm rushing trying to get 50 million things done this week so my post today is really short and sweet! Don't forget to enter our challenge for a chance at a CropStop gift certificate....lots of new goodies are arriving daily!!

Have a great week!

Love ya,
Rosie :)

Inspiration Monday~~More Than 1 Fold!

Happy Monday y'all! Well, the day is almost here. Tomorrow and Wednesday, the packers will be here. It's rather bittersweet. I'm excited about our move and our future, but it's hard leaving family and friends. :( I do have 2 best friends who live in Texas, within 15 minutes of where we are moving so that's a little comforting to me. I'll at least know 2 people, haha!

I'm working from a different computer as my laptop crashed on Friday! Hubby is still trying to see if he can fix it. I hope so because did I back anything up??? Ummmm....NO!! I kept telling myself that I needed to do it especially before the move and then BOOM, outta nowhere, the thing shuts off on me and won't come back on!! :(

The theme this week at La-La Land Crafts is:

MORE THAN 1 FOLD!!

I used this super adorable Luka with Flowers! He comes with 2 sentiments, and he's very versatile for many different occasions. I gave him some rosy cheeks. :) He's colored with both Copics and Chalk.
Copics & Chalk:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, chalk
Hair: E49, E37, E33, E13
Shirt: B91, B93, B95
Flowers: R81, R83, R85, Y15, R24, R27, R29, G24, YG17, YG97
Vase: N2, Stickles
Pants: E55, E11, E53
Shoes: B91, B93, B95, N0, N2

I also used several La-La Land Crafts DIES for the front of this Z-Fold Card.
DIES:
Filigree Corner Die

Here's the full view of the Z-Fold Card. I cut two bases, which started as 6" x 12". On the top, long side, I marked it at 4 inches from the left. Then on the short side I marked it 4 inches from the bottom. I line up my lines on the paper trimmer and cut it on the diagonal. The I scored at 4" and 8". You can find a Z-Fold Card tutorial HERE. It's for an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper, but just follow my measurements above for 6" x 12".
The dps are a combo of DCWV Linen Closet & MME Portobello Road and I edged them with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The sentiment is from Close To My Heart. The lace is from The Paper Studio.

I cut 3 Tulip Borders and glued the bottom edge to the back side of the card (I cut off end pieces so they lined up perfectly). Then I attached a 2nd Z-fold card to the back so the die-cuts are sandwiched between the 2 cardstock pieces. I hope that makes sense!

Don't forget you can play along with us by uploading your creations to the Customer Gallery. Head on over to the LLLC Store to snag these amazing Dies and Stamps....believe me, you won't be disappointed!

Have a great week and see you soon!

Hugs,
Rosie :)

CropStop Challenge #83: Go Fly a Kite!

Happy Thursday y'all! Can you believe it's already August?? Man, the summer went by really fast!! I don't even feel like we had a chance to do much this summer. Lately, we've been trying to squeeze in as many play dates as we can for our little guy. It's really bittersweet! He has some really amazing friends and we've gotten so much closer to them over the last few weeks, which makes leaving even harder. The packers come in less than a week and we'll soon be in Texas. School starts there on August 27th so at least we have a little time to get settled in.

Did you see that CropStop is having a Creative Team Call?? If you want to be part of an amazing team with some wonderful ladies then please, please apply! I would love to see some of you working along side of me. It'll be fun!! :)

This week at CropStop our challenge is:

GO FLY A KITE!
(use a kite on your project)

I found this gorgeous Saturated Canary image called "Windy Day" and knew she was perfect for this challenge. I love her beautiful, flowing hair! She took me forever to color with all the layers and detail, but I just love how she turned out! I printed her on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics and Stardust Stickles. I made the sky/grass background using Chalk. I also added some Sweet Pea Flower Soft to the grass area.

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, Chalk
Eyes: E39, E35
Lips: R22
Flower: RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09, G02, G09, Stickles
DRESS:
Dots: RV21, RV04, YR68, G02, B01, Stickles
Pink: RV06, RV04, RV02, Stickles
Green: G00, G02, G05, G07
Orange: YR02, YR68, Stickles
Blue: B00, B01, B02, B04
Scarf: G00, G02, G05, G07
Shoes: RV02, RV04, RV06
KITE:
RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09, E35, G05, G02, G00
Dots: RV21, RV04, YR68, G02, B01, Stickles

The textured pink cardstock is from Core'dinations, and the gorgeous dps came from a new paper pad I just recently purchased called DCWV "The Carnival Stack". I used a Martha Stewart Border Punch on the pink cardstock behind the center panel.

The corner die is from Whimsy Stamps and the embossed butterflies are from a Stampin' Up Emboss & Cut Die. My sentiment is from La-La Land Crafts. The flowers are WOC and Recollections and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

CHALLENGES ENTERED:
Designed to Color--Scene It!
Saturated Canary--The Great Outdoors!

Now don't forget you can play along with us by linking up your creations to the CropStop Challenge Blog! Inspiration Monday-Monchromatic

Hi y'all! Well, things are still going smoothly with our upcoming move to Texas....thank goodness! We had a little glitch with the appraisal on the new house, but we worked through it and are getting the house for even cheaper....seems so unreal!! It seems like everything is happening so quickly. I can't believe the move will be here in about 1 1/2 weeks....CRAZY, huh? I'm trying to work ahead this week on my DT projects so I can get everything set up before I have no internet. Not sure how I'm going to handle not having internet for a little bit. :(

It's Monday and time for another La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Challenge. The theme this week is:

MONOCHROMATIC

I used the super gorgeous, Marci with Rose. She reminds me of my mom so much because my mom loves to garden and loves to wear hats. I don't think my mom goes anywhere without a hat, haha!

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, chalk
Lips: R22
Hair: E49, E47, E44
Hat/Dress/Shoes: V17, V15, C7, C5, C3, G46, G43, V28, V25, V22

Since this image reminds me of my mom I decided to use my mom's favorite color for my Monochromatic card.....PURPLE! The floral dp is full of various colors of purple and gray. I'm not sure who it's from....it was in my stash. I distressed the edges of my papers with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The pearls are from Close to My Heart and the ribbon came from my stash.

I dry embossed the panel behind Marci with a new embossing folder I got from CropStop called Cart-Us ROSES. It's such a beautiful embossing folder and perfect for Marci with Rose! After I embossed it, I rubbed CTMH White ink over the top to bring out the embossing.

The CTMH sentiment is heat embossed using Stampendous Detail White embossing powder.

I hope you get a chance to play along with us by uploading your creations to our Customer Gallery. Don't forget, you can get these awesome stamps and the new line of dies in the LLLC Store. There are also a few stamps in the RETIRED section you might want to snatch up at a reduced price. :)

Have a great week and see you back here soon!

Hugs,
Rosie :)

Inspiration Monday--Circle Card

Happy Monday y'all! Things are still as crazy as ever getting ready for our big move. Some of our dates got pushed up so now the packers are coming Aug. 8th & 9th. We have to be out of our current house by Aug. 10th and then we close on our new house in Texas on Aug. 13th. We are so blessed that things have gone really smoothly and fortunately we only have a few minor repairs to make to our current house.

I'm going to do my best to keep up with everything during this big move. But if I go MIA a week or two in August, it's because we are in the midst of moving and I probably don't have internet yet.....oooooh, what's a girl to do without internet, LOL!!

The challenge this week at La-La Land Crafts is....

CIRCLE CARD

I used Kimono Marci for my card today. I think she's so gorgeous with her beautiful Kimono and parasol. I just love coloring her hair!

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, chalk
Lips: R27, R24
Hair: Black, N8, N4
Hairbands: R29, R27, R24
Kimono/Shoes: Black, N8, N6, N4, R29, R27, R24
Parasol: Black, N8, N6, N4, R29, R27, R24, E84, E55

The beautiful dps are from DCWV "The Colorful Life" stack. The dps in this stack are all based off artwork by Donna Estabrooks. The paper is very mixed media-ish and so gorgeous! I cut out my layers with various Spellbinder Dies. Then, I used the LLLC Filigree Corner Die on each side of the sentiment.

I used the new LLLC LOTUS Die just released at CHA to make my two Lotus flowers. It comes with all the components (petals in various sizes, stamen, and lily pads).

The Love sentiment next to Marci and the quote on the bottom of the card are stickers. I backed them with black cardstock and then raised them on pop-dots. Marci is also backed with pop-dots.

That's all for me today folks! I hope you play along with us and upload your Circle Cards to our Customer Gallery. If you haven't seen all the new stamps and dies just released at CHA then you'll definitely want to head on over to the LLLC Store to check it out. While you're there, you might want to check out the Clearance and Retired Sections and grab some really great deals....once they're gone they're GONE!!

Have a great week!

Hugs,
Rosie :)

.

Now sit back and enjoy the ride! I know this post is picture heavy, but I couldn't help but do several projects with the new images and dies. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed making them!!

The first project I made was a 8x10 canvas with a carnival theme. I used the new Carousel Horse and decided Heart Balloon Marci would be a perfect fit with the horse. I think the Carousel images are AWESOME! I can't wait to make a larger canvas with all of them!!
Heart Balloon Marci:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11

Balloon: YG25

Carousel Horse:

Mane/Tail: E55, E57, Y02
Hooves: N8, N4, N2

I also decided to use our new Popsicle Marci. Isn't she the cutest thing!!! I just love her hat and sunglasses....so chic!
Popsicle Marci:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, chalk
Hair: E49, E47, E44

Pants/Shoes: R81, R83, R85

Popsicle: R29,E55
Here's the full view of the canvas. I just used blue and green dps for the background instead of messing with paint. The cloud dies are from a previous release and are part of the Cloud, Sun, & Island Die Set.

Here's a closer view so you can see some of the new Dies! I used the Heart Fence Die, Heart Tree Die, Hot Air Balloon Die, and Tulip Border Die.

Next up is my card featuring the new Hot Air Balloon Die. I cut blue polka dot dp with the die and glued it on top of red felt.

The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz stamp set. I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I used white Glossy Accents around the edges of the sentiment. The hot air balloon and yellow dps are from My Mind's Eye Lime Twist "Out of the Blue". I also used the Clouds from the Cloud, Sun & Island Dies behind the hot air balloon.
Link
My next card uses Bath Time Luka. Look at that hair....LOVE it!! Reminds me of my little boy when he takes a bath: lots of toys and bubbles....and he always wants to do a faux hawk, haha!
Bath Time Luka:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, chalk
Hair: E49, E7, E44
Boat: B02, B05, R27, B18

The dps are from Echo Park "Little Boy". The sentiment is part of the Bath Time Luka set. I also used the new Water Lily Die to make my flower in the corner. The clear dew drops and white ribbon are from my stash.

And finally, my last card is with School Boy Luka! He so reminds me of my son, Isaiah!
School Boy Luka:
Skin: E0000, E00, E01, E11, Chalk

I got the alphabet dp from Michaels, but I'm not sure who makes it. The felt sentiment is from Pink Paisley. Did you see those awesome wings?!?! The Wings Die Set is also from the new CHA release.

Well, that's all for me!! Man, was that a lot of work, LOL! Don't forget, if you want to be in the drawing for the awesome prize above, then head over to the LLLC Blog and leave a comment under the CHA Showcase post!! Also, go and snatch up all the newbies in the LLLC Store HERE!!

Have a great week and see you back here soon!

YUMI & FUMI Handmade BLOG HOP!!

Welcome to the Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Blog Hop!

Yumi and Fumi Handmade is a brand new stamp company created by some awesome friends, Renate and Leanne. You can read more about both of them on the blog HERE. They are amazing and so is this new stamp line!!

If you've stopped here from Kim's blog then you are on the right track. If not, then head on over to the Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog to start at the beginning. You will find all the information there, including prizes up for grabs and the blog hop list. The hop starts today and will run until Sunday, July 15th at Noon PST. That means you have 4 days to hop, comment, and look around. There will be hidden prizes so be sure to comment on each blog to be in the running.

My other great news......I'm on the Yumi & Fumi Design Team....YAY!! I'm so blessed and thankful for this opportunity to work along side these great and awesomely creative ladies!!

Now..... let me introduce you to Yumi with Fan!!

Isn't she beautiful?!?! I just {heart} her!! This stamp measures 3.25" HT x 2.43" W, and the best part..... she is scroll-cut and indexed for easy stamping. That means no cutting thick rubber and getting a hand-cramp (I am forever traumatized from cutting thick rubber, LOL!!). In addition, they are indexed so you can see exactly where you are stamping.

I colored my image with Copics and Chalk. You can see my colors below.

Copics/Chalk:
Skin: E13, chalk
Eyes: E47, E44
Hair: E49, E47, E44
Kimono/Fan: R35, R22, R20
Sash/Shoes: BG10, BG13, BG15

I decided to make something other than a card for this blog hop. I found this awesome Treat Box Tutorial on SplitcoastStampers from Beate. I thought maybe it would make a great pen holder for Renate and Leanne in their booth at the Carson Rubber Stamp Show this weekend. You can read more details about the show HERE. :)
The cardstock and dps are from Close To My Heart. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado Thoughts For The Day stamp set. I raised Yumi with Fan on pop dots for added dimension.

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to become a follower and leave a comment for a chance at a prize! Next on the hop just happens to be one of the owners of Yumi and Fumi........RENATE. :)

Have a great week and ENJOY!!

Hugs,
Rosie
