Baby Boy Card & Word Album

Gosh, it's been forever since I've posted on my blog....did you think I went MIA? Well, I guess I kinda did! In October, I got extremely sick and ended up in the ER twice. ER Doctor said "severe food poisoning." They had to give me an IV and pain meds and took lots of X-rays. I went to a GI specialist several weeks later and he said it could be months before my system is back to 100%....really??!! Can you believe it still doesn't feel completely right and it's been 2 months.

Anyways, I got an order several weeks ago to do 4 "Baby" word albums (1 boy album and 3 girl albums). They were a lot of work but I got them all finished last month and mailed off. I even threw in a Name Frame for the daughter of the friend that ordered the albums (pictures of the girl albums and Name Frame will be posted over the next several days).

At the time that I made the Word Books, I didn't think about making a matching card...DUH! But I know if I want my fellow Magnolia lovers to come take a look, I better include something with a Tilda or Edwin on it, LOL! I realized when I went to make this card that I don't own any baby Tilda's or Edwin's...so I had to improvise. That's one of the great things about these stamps....you can adapt them to various occasions. So here's my card using Little Bunny Tilda:

The background dp and yellow dp came from the Welcome Baby Boy paper pack from American Traditional. The blue paper with printed words came from my stash along with the yellow ribbon, truck button and silver charm. The quote stamp is an acrylic set by Fiskars called Simple Thoughts-Boy.

On the close-up of Little Bunny Tilda, you can see I added white fun flock to the white areas. I colored the light area of her face with Copic E51 and the light blue of the bunny suit with Copic BG10. All of the shading on her face, cheeks, bunny suit and yellow ribbon was done with chalk.

Here are the pictures of the baby album (some of the dp came from the same paper pack as the card and some came from my stash).

The BABY chipboard album is from Bo Bunny. All of the embellishments on the album are stickers. The ribbon came from my stash.

Stayed tuned for the girl albums and Name Frame. I think they turned out even cuter...because I added lots of flowers and glitter, of course!

I've also added two other cards/projects below this post (trying to update my blog with previous projects) so I hope you scroll down and check them out too.

Big Hugs to you all and thanks for visiting!

"Baby" Word Book

I love to make homemade gifts for special occasions that are different and unique...something the recipient can't just buy at the store. My various handmade gifts include Message Boards, Name Frames and Word Books. Here's a "Baby" word book I made for a family member.

The Bo Bunny word "BABY" comes already pre-cut from chipboard. You just trace the letters onto your patterned paper, cut out, and paste to the chipboard. Then add some pictures and embellishments...and voila...your masterpiece is done! In this case, the word book was for the baby shower and there were no pictures yet (which for me can sometimes be a challenge...I like to have the pictures ahead of time so I know what quotes I want to use).

Here are some close-up pictures of each letter:Most of the patterned paper came from My Mind's Eye "Dreamy" paper pack. The words/quotes are from various sources: rub-ons, computer generated quotes, my own handwriting, and stickers. Most of the ribbon I got from the $1 bin at Michaels.

I also have made custom "name" books for various family members and friends. I cut my own letters to spell out the person's name. If you are ever interested in a custom made "name" book, just email me. I charge $5 per letter (have to decorate the front and back sides of the letter) and shipping (I usually use a flat-rate padded envelope or box, depending on size of name).

Here's are two samples of "Name" books: Abbey & Aaron

Hugs and happy scrapping!
