TGF Farm Fresh Friday~Back to School!

Happy Friday everyone!! Hope you all had a great week so far!! It's the weekend, WOOT, WOOT....so time to get the fun and relaxation on!! My little guy starts school on Monday so this is our last weekend to close out the end of summer vacay....boo!! My son and I are not morning people and this fact alone has tempted me to home-school him, LOL! But he loves his school and the teachers are awesome! Plus he gets to see his friends everyday so that's an added bonus for him. :)
To get us all prepped and ready, the theme for this week's Farm Fresh Friday at The Greeting Farm is:

Back to School!!

To see some amazing creations from my fellow DT sistas, be sure to head over to The Greeting Farm Blog!! They have definitely rocked the Back to School theme!

I made another 4x4 Mini Pizza Box (I told you they were addicting) and used a stamp from TGF Mixed Media DREAMY Set. It's not in the store right now and I'm not sure when they will get any more in. It's a pretty popular set and pretty much sells out each time they are placed in the store! Fortunately I was able to snag one!!
 Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E02, E11
Hair: E44, E47, E49
Dress: B00, B01, B04
Wings: B00, Stickles
My dps and sentiment are from DCWV The Grade School Pack. The ribbon is from Walmart and the pearls are from Recollections. I raised the sentiment and image on pop-dots.
Here's how to play:
You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz no later than Thursday, August 29th at NOON CST.
  • You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in the comment section!)
  •  The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win their choice of an in-stock SINGLE RUBBER STAMP or a 4x6 set!
I can't wait to see what you create for our Back to School Challenge!
Have a great weekend!

Mini Pizza Boxes using TGF Mini Stamp Sets!

Happy Thursday everyone! I'm back today to share my newest project for The Greeting Farm using all 4 of Mini Stamps Sets: Mini Clouds, Mini Cupcakes, Mini Fleurs, and Mini Flutters.

I know if you're busy like me it's difficult sometimes to get crafty time in. And, if you are like me you are always needing a card or something handmade for some special person in your life (at the last minute of course, haha!). Well for me the quickest and easiest project to make are these 4x4 Mini Pizza Boxes!

They start off as a 6" x 11" sheet of paper and with some scoring, cutting and gluing they turn into these cute little boxes....great for holding a gift card!! You can see the easy tutorial HERE.

I decided to make 4 of them to show you how quick and easy these can come together (without any coloring)! First I cut my cardstock 6" x 11" and scored 1" around all sides and then at the 5" and 6" mark on the long side of the paper. Be sure to click on the tutorial link above. :)

Then I cut all the slits on each sheet of paper and put all the boxes together. Assembly-line process makes it go quicker!

Next is the fun part....the decorating!

Here's a side view so you can see I also decorated the sides with dps.

Here are some closeups of each box.

I hope you get a chance to make these yourself. They are kind of addicting! :)

Have a great day!
Rosie :)

This DT term we are revamping the challenges at 7 Kids College Fund in hopes that more people will get involved. All challenges will now be ANYTHING GOES with a twist. The twist is optional, but we hope you will take the opportunity to join in on the twist to develop your marker skills and increase your use of the incredibly popular vintage products now available.

TGF Garden Variety Tuesday: STICKERS!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today starts a new Garden Variety Tuesday Challenge over at The Greeting Farm

The theme for the next week is STICKERS!!

Boy do I LOVE stickers....ever since I was a kid! I remember ordering stickers books on those Scholastic book orders instead of reading books. I would just save them because I knew I wouldn't be able to get more just like them. Occasionally, they would end up on a notebook, but most of the time I just "collected" them! Years later, I got into the scrapbooking craze and then my sticker obsession started all over again! I have 3 or 4 binders full of stickers...which have just been sitting there for a few years since I transferred over to card-making. But this challenge forced me to pull them out...and now I'm kind of digging my stickers all over again!!

For my card today I used the new Birthday Anya 3. I LOVE her pigtails....so stinkin' CUTE!! I also used TGF Film and Polaroid Die Set. It's awesome!!  The polaroid die is perfect for framing sticker sentiments!

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E02, E11
Hair: E44, E47, E49
Heart/Cherries: R24, R27, R29
Dress/Shoes: BG10, BG13, BG15
Cake: E43, E44, R81, R83, R85
Platter: C3, C5

My dps are from Carta Bella GIDDY UP 6x6 paper pad. It's one of my faves right now for all sorts of girlie cards. I think the stickers were part of a 12x12 ColorBok paper/sticker set from Walmart.

Here's how to play:
* Use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.

* Submit your entry via InLinkz (below) no later than Monday, August 19th, 2013 at Noon CST. You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, please add your URL in the comment section.)

* The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win a digital image of choice from the TGF store.

*** But WAIT! Each week, our friends have the opportunity to DOUBLE that prize to either two digis, or you can trade those two digis for a single rubber stamp of choice, as long as we have 20 or more players each week, so encourage all your friends and family to play along! ***

Good luck! We can't wait to see your creations using STICKERS!!

Hugs,
Rosie :)

Coloring Gingham using Summer Yumi!

Good morning my peeps! So glad to see you here! If you haven't heard we've made some major changes over at the Yumi and Fumi Handmade Crafts Blog, so you'll definitely want to head over there, scroll down, and check out the new team and the new changes. Be sure to check out the current challenge going on right now too. We've changed the rules and now you can use ANY stamped image!! Be sure to link up your "Anything Goes" challenge card HERE!!

We've also added Showcase Thursdays where one of our designers will share something fun (a tutorial, a technique, case a project or use an older image, aka Throwback image).  If you'd like to see something specific, like you saw something on someone's project and you'd love to know how they did it, just leave a message in the comments section and we'll do our very best to create a post based on it. :)

Today I'm going to show you how I color gingham on clothes with my Copics. It's similar to my "Plaid" technique, but instead of 2 color families I just use one. I apologize for the low quality pictures. I'm on vacation at my mom's and I don't have my lamps. :(

Today, I'm making blue gingham so I picked B00, B02, and B05 for my colors.

First, I use B00 and draw my lines vertical and horizontal. You will want to try and space the lines equally apart, which I didn't do a very good job at here. :(

Then I grab B05 (my darkest color), and outline each of the B00 lines.

Then I use the same B05 and color in the following squares.

Next, I grab B02 and color in the squares on both sides of the B05 squares.

Here's Summer Yumi!! I love her! I decided to give her a blue gingham shirt. Again I started with B00 and made vertical and horizontal lines....this time I spaced them better.

Then I outlined the B00 lines with B05 and colored in the following squares with B05.

Next I came in and added B02 in each square next to the B05 squares. I also went over all the lines again with B00. And...there you have it....GINGHAM!
You'll see this cutie on a card for the next Y&FH challenge coming up on August 18th!

In the meantime, I hope you join us for our current challenge of "Anything Goes" HERE...and remember you can NOW use any stamped image! Check out all the new challenge rules by clicking the tab at the top of the page on the Y&F Handmade Crafts Blog.

Have a great day!
Rosie :)
