C.C. Designs: APRIL RELEASE SHOWCASE DAY 2

The APRIL 2020 RELEASE from C.C. Designs is NOW available for purchase!! Be sure to head over to the C.C. Designs Store to pick up yours today. This month there are 3 new stamp sets, including some more Swiss Pixies!

Today I used this happy-go-lucky cutie from the new FOXES Clear Stamp Set. I just love his expression as he hops along the meadow. I stamped him on Xpress It Blending Card, and colored him with Copic Markers.

 Copics:
Face/Inside of Ears: E40, E41, E42
Tail End: E440, E42, E43
Fur: E08, E09, E15
Leaves: YG25, YG67, G28
Ground: YG23
Sky: B000

I used an MFT Scallop Circle Frame Die for the frame around the image. The black polka dot paper is from the C.C. Designs Heart and Pink Paper Pad. To finish off the card I added a bow and enamel dots.

When I finished the card, I was thinking... you know what he really needs to be jumping. I stamped him again, colored him, then fussy cut him out. I placed an action wobble on the back and now he hops when I flick him. Head over to Facebook to see him in action!

Be sure to visit the C.C. Designs Store to grab your favorites before they sell out!

C.C. Designs: APRIL RELEASE SHOWCASE DAY 1!

The APRIL 2020 RELEASE from C.C. Designs is NOW available for purchase!! Be sure to head over to the C.C. Designs Store to pick up yours today. This month there are 3 new stamp sets, including some more Swiss Pixies!

Today, I used this fabulous girl called UMBRELLA SWISSIE. Isn't she awesome?! I stamped her on Xpress It Coloring Card, and colored her with Copic Markers. I paper-pieced her umbrella and rain boots using paper from the Rainbow 6x6 Paper Pad. The boots didn't have enough dots so I added more with my Copics.

 Copics:
Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E01, E11, E13
Hair: E42, E47, E49
Pink: RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09, R39
Teal: BG10, BG13, BG15, BG78
Purple: V12, V15, V17
Leggings: RV02, RV06, BG10, BG13
Dots on Boots: R37, YR04, Y13, YG23, B23, V15

I remember a few years ago there were a ton of crayon melting tutorials going around creating "rain" around a silhouette of a person holding an umbrella. I knew I wanted to recreate something like that when I saw this umbrella image. A lot of my craft stuff is still in boxes from moving, and I haven't yet located my stash of crayons or my heat gun. I decided to recreate the idea using my Zig Clean Color Watercolor Markers. I think it turned out pretty good! I will have a detailed tutorial for this technique later in the month (on April 14th) on the C.C. Designs Blog!

The sentiment is part of the Umbrella Swissie set. In the set you will see it is one long sentence. But I wanted the "rain or shine" to be underneath so I cut it apart. That's one of the advantages of clear stamps. If you cut the sentiment apart it's easy to piece back together if you want the sentiment to be long again.

Be sure to head over to the C.C. Designs Store and grab your favorites before they sell out!

I Am Roses + Xyron

Happy Tuesday everyone! My card today features a digital image called Flutterby Daisy. She's printed on Xpress It Blending Card and colored with Copic Markers.

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, E13
Hair: E42, E47, E49
Pink: RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09, R39
Yellow: Y11, Y15, YR21, YR24
Green: YG25, YG67, G28
Butterfly: RV02, RV04, RV06, V12, V15, V17,
Y11, YR21, YR23, B23, B18, B29
Sky: Chalk and Cloud Border Die Cut

I recently received a goodie box from Xyron which included the Mega Runner, X150 Sticker Maker, along with refills. This Xyron Bundle is an awesome deal, and....the items are sparkly blue! I LOVE them! The adhesive on the Mega Runner is AMAZING and really sticky! I used it to put all my card layers together.

I got the following clever idea from my friend Mitsyana. If you have any enamel dots or sequins or other little things that need some adhesive on the back, just pop them onto your Mega Runner so they pick up some of the sticky dots!

The sticker maker is perfect for those little die-cut pieces, scripty word dies, and IAR leaves. I pulled the wire stems off the mini leaves and ran them through the sticker maker.

I added gorgeous flowers from I Am Roses to finish off the card. They really add a dramatic statement to any project! I used R43 roses, white cherry blossoms, small yellow and pink flowers, and tiny leaves.

Remember, you have until APRIL 8th to link up your project to the current I Am Roses Challenge. Be sure to use a minimum of 3 I Am Roses products on your card to qualify for a prize. I can't wait to see what you make!

Hugs,
Rosie

The MARCH 2020 RELEASE from C.C. Designs was amazing and full of so much goodness! Be sure to head over to the C.C. Designs Store to pick up your favorites! Today, I used this fabulous, unicorn-loving Swiss Pixie from the Unicorn and Rainbow Stamp Set. I absolutely LOVE the Swiss Pixie line and I'm so happy that they are making a comeback! I colored her with Copic Markers and then added Star Dust Stickles for extra sparkle.

 Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, E13
Hair: V13, V15, BV08

Star Dust Stickles

The sentiment and unicorn paper came from Doodlebug Design Fairy Tales 6x6 Paper Pad. For extra dimension I raised the sentiment and Unicorn Swiss Pixie on foam tape. I made this card for a friend's daughter who has a birthday coming up. I'm hoping this brightens her day since she's not able to have a party.

Be sure to head over to the C.C. Designs Store and grab your favorites before they sell out! A new release is coming up on Thursday, April 2nd!

Some Odd Girl: PLANNER WEATHER

TGIF everyone! I'm back today with my last card as a Guest Designer for Some Odd Girl. I thoroughly enjoy my time working with these awesome digis! Thank you Kristi for having me this month! I had a great time!

Today' card features this adorable rainbow and clouds image from Some Odd Girl's PLANNER WEATHER. Isn't it so cute?!! I printed it on Xpress It Blending Card and colored it with Copic Markers.

Copics:
Red: R24, R27, R29, R39
Orange: YR02, YR04, YR07, YR09
Yellow: YR27, YR23, YR21, Y13
Green: YG67, YG25, YG23
Teal: BG18, BG15, BG13, BG10
Blue: B29, B18, B16
Purple: BV08, V17, V15, V12
Pink: RV04, RV02
White: C00, C0, C2

I love the quote from Maya Angelou that says "Be the rainbow in someone else's cloud." It lifts my spirits, and inspires me to do better. I typed the quote in word, change the font and added some color. I printed it at the bottom of my cardstock and then used a cloud die to cut the top border. Next I traced the border onto rainbow paper so I could add some rainbow color to the top of the cloud outline.

Now for even more fun, I added the rainbow cloud image to an action wobble! When you tap on the image, it wobbles around. You can see it action on the Some Odd Girl Facebook Group!

Some Odd Girl: PLANNER FOOD

Happy Wednesday everyone! I'm back today with a sushi card featuring Some Odd Girl's PLANNER FOOD. The great thing about SOG is that you can purchase these digital stamps, download them to your computer and print them right away. You don't have to wait for anything to be shipped to you! I used this Planner Food Set earlier in the month for my planner and a few taco cards. Now, I'm showcasing the sushi! I printed the trio of sushi on Xpress It Blending Card and added the sentiment underneath using Word. The sushi are colored with Copic Markers.
 Copics:
Black: C5, C6, C8, C10
Orange: YR18, R12, R11
Green: YG25, YG67
White: C0, C1, C3, Colorless Blender
With all the things happening in the world right now, this sentiment just kind of stuck with me. Hubby, kiddo and I are pretty much hermits, except when we are traveling so we've been okay right now with the social distancing. But my extrovert friends are struggling so I hope this lifts their spirits a little.
Be sure to head over to the Some Odd Girl Store to grab some digital stamp sets, and this PLANNER FOOD Set. There are also some FREEBIES that you can try out too. I'll be back on Friday with another card featuring PLANNER WEATHER.
Hugs,
Rosie

I loved yesterday's wreath so much that I recreated another one for this card, but placed it in the center of the card. To see instructions on how I created the floral wreath scroll to the previous post. I used one of the sentiments from the Miss Anya Bless You Set for the center of this wreath.

To finish off the card I added foam tape behind Miss Anya for extra dimension, and placed purple enamel dots in the corners.

The Greeting Farm Stamp Feature: BOUQUET

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm on Day 2 of The Greeting Farm's Stamp Features showcasing new stamps from the March Release. Today's set called BOUQUET will transport you to the countryside of France with its beautiful floral stamps and 2 French sentiments. This time around I did some heat embossing and water coloring with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers.

To create this card, I first used a stitched rectangle die to cut a rectangle from watercolor paper. Next, I lightly traced a circle so that part of it was off the card. Then I used an embossing ink pad to stamp one of the floral stamps around the circle. I sprinkled Gold Embossing Powder on top and heat set it. I noticed some areas needed something so I used the single leaf stamp to fill in a few areas, and embossed it again. Then I stamped Bonjour in the middle of the wreath and did the same thing. It helps sometimes to do the heat embossing in steps so you can see the placement better.

To color in the florals I used my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. I laid the color down at the bottom of the leaf or flower, then use a wet paintbrush to move the color out to the top of the flowers so it's lighter at the top. After coloring in the floral wreath, I then scribble the markers onto an acrylic block, added water with my paintbrush and tapped the paintbrush against my pencil to create ink splatter.

I was so inspired by this month's release! It's seriously one of my faves! Be sure to head over to The Greeting Farm Store and grab your favorites. You're going to LOVE them all!

Happy Monday everyone! Today, I'm back with The Greeting Farm Stamp Feature showcasing a new stamp set from the March Release called CHEEKY HOWDY. Isn't she fabulous?! I have lived in Oklahoma and Texas most of my life now and love me some cowgirl boots. Every year, I usually ask for a new pair so my collection is growing. When I saw this stamp set, I knew I had to create a boot card. It was so much fun!

This sweet gal is colored with Copic Markers. The sentiment is handwritten using a Tombow Calligraphy Pen.

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, E13
Hair: E71, E77, E79
Cowgirl Hat: E41, E42, E43
Hat Band: BG10, BG13, BG15, BG18, E23, E25, E27

Shirt: BG10, BG13, R81, R83, R85

I found a boot template here and flipped it so it faced the opposite direction. I added details with Copic Markers, and distressed the boot with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  This has to be one of my fave cards ever!

I was so inspired by this month's release! It's seriously one of my faves! Be sure to head over to The Greeting Farm Store and grab your favorites. You're going to LOVE them all!

Some Odd Girl: PLANNER WEATHER

Happy Wednesday everyone! I'm back today with my 2nd planner layout using a new set from Some Odd Girl called PLANNER WEATHER! Once again, I created my own stickers and "washi tape" using the digis and sticker paper. I used Photoshop to color the images beforehand. Then I copied the images into MS Word, resized them to create individual stickers and then smaller ones in a row for the imitation washi tape.

Here are some closeup pics!

Be sure to head over to the Some Odd Girl Store to grab some digis and this Planner Weather set. There are also some FREEBIES that you can try out too. I'll be back later in the month with more Some Odd Girl cards!
