For my card today I used the super adorable Kissing Winter Bears, Gill Roberts Collection. Aren't they just the cutest things ever?!! I stamped them on X-Press It Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. See the snowflakes in the background? I used a stylus and the Cuttlebug Snowflakes Embossing Folder to make them directly onto my background. If you lay the paper and embossing folder on a light table you can use the stylus to place the dots where you want them. Then I colored them white with Copic Opaque White.

 Copics:
Pink: R81, R83, R85
Green: YG25, YG67
Blue: B01, B04
Tan: E41, E42, E43
Bird: R22, R24, R27, YR04, Black
Sky: B000
Ground: N0, N2

The dps are from Carta Bella Merry & Bright 6x6 Paper Pad. My sentiment is from One Little Dreamer DATE NIGHT Clear Stamp Set. The bottom snowflake border was made using a Martha Stewart Border Punch. For a full list of supplies see below.

Designed To Color WORLD CARD MAKING DAY Blog Hop!

Today, October 5th, is officially World Card Making Day! This holiday is an opportunity to celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family. It's a day to connect with fellow card makers both near and far, to applaud the creativity that powers the craft, and to provide an opportunity for card makers to connect and find resources that will empower, inspire, and encourage them in their card making. It’s also a time to get a jump-start on the holiday card-making season!

At Designed To Color, we’ve decided to celebrate this special day with an awesome Blog Hop!! Our Design Team and special guests have made some amazing cards! Several of us will also be sharing some card-making tips along the way. Please leave a comment on each designer’s blog and then a comment at Designed To Color to let us know you have completed the hop. We will pick 1 random winner for a prize package consisting of goodies from various sponsors including:

Crafter's Companion

Yumi & Fumi Handmade

…..just to name a few!

You have until Monday, October 7th, at 11:59pm MST to leave a comment on each blog. We will announce the winner on Wednesday, October 9th. GOOD LUCK!

Here is the blog hop order:

GUESTS from TSD:

For my card today, I used Bob the Yeti from Yumi and Fumi. I colored him with Copics and added stickles to the lights. The dps are from Carta Bella WINTER FUN 6x6 paper pad and an old CTMH pack. The snowflake border is from Joy Crafts and the ribbon is from Walmart.
Copics:
N0, N2, C3, Colorless Blender
E43, R20
Lights: BG72, BG75, Stardust Stickles

So what's my card making tip for you? Well, you know how hard it can be to get stickles in those little places...like these lightbulbs. So to keep it nice and neat I use a toothpick or the end of a bamboo skewer. You know what's also a great tool? The longer toothpicks that you get in a restaurant burger or slider! I keep those, clean them up when I get home, and they become my stickles tool! :)

This is one of those slider burger toothpicks. The are longer than a regular toothpick so easier to hold.

We hope you are inspired to create something special for World Card Making Day. If you do make a card please stop by the Designed To Color Facebook Page to share your creations. We would love to see them!!

Have a great weekend!
Rosie

Designed To Color Challenge~~SUMMER!!

It's been a month since our last challenge at Designed To Color and now it's time for a brand new one! Man, time is flying, isn't it?!! The theme this time around is:

SUMMER!!

All of us on the DT got to work with some awesome stamps from Fresh Brewed Designs....CUTE images I gotta tell ya! I used Mermaid Play for my card today. She's stamped on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics.

Copics
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11/Lips: R20, R22, R24
Hair: E44, E47, E49, BG10, BG13, BG15
Clothing: V000, V01, V04, V06, V09, BG10, BG02, BG05, BG09, BG70
Sand: E40, E41, E42, E43
Crab: R24, R27, R29
Starfish: Y21, YR23, YR24
Flag: BG10, B13, BG15

I kept my card pretty simple because I wanted the image to stand out after doing all that stippling from Alyce Keegan's YouTube video. It was a lot of work I tell ya, but it was also a lot of fun! I'll be trying this technique again soon.

Image: Fresh Brewed Designs Mermaid Play
Paper: Copic X-Press It Blending Card
Elements: Kraft Cardstock (Colorbok), White Cardstock (stash), Poolside 12x12 Designer Paper (Colorbok), White Doily (Walmart), Pearls (Recollections), Sentiment from Sophia Stamp Set (Close To My Heart), Palm Tree Die (La-La Land Crafts)

Now it's your turn! Link up your NEW  "Summer" project featuring  your FAVORITE colored image at the Designed To Color Blog. Please have DTC linked back to your blog post as well.
