CropStop Challenge 86: Back to School

Happy Thursday y'all! Well I'm in the new house in Texas, but man are there a lot of boxes to unpack!!! It's leaving me stressed, depressed and frazzled! I want everything to be in it's place already and it's frustrating searching through boxes to try and find what I'm looking for since I didn't pack it. Usually the packers are a little more detailed on their descriptions, but this time around they were in such a hurry they just wrote really vague things. On top of it, they didn't always put "like" items together. The pot might be in one box, but the lid in another....things like that.

Well enough complaining! Like a friend said...."One box at a time!" It's really the truth and that's how I need to approach it....even if all I get to unpack is 1 box...at least it's one less box to worry about. I have the bedding and towels washed so that is definitely a plus!

Today at CropStop, our challenge for you is:

BACK TO SCHOOL!!

My Oklahoma peeps started school this week, but here in Texas, school doesn't start until Monday, Aug. 27th. At first I was really happy about the late start so Isaiah could get a little adjusted in the new house. But now he's bored....really, really bored!! So school will be a big relief...for BOTH of us!!

For my project today, I used this awesome FREEBIE from Whimsie Doodles called Pencil Pixie. She was perfect for my Pencil Box Project. I printed her on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics and chalk.

Copics & Chalk:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Hair: E49, E47, E44
Headband/Dress: R22, R24, R27, R29, Stardust Stickles
Wings: R11, Stardust Stickles
Shoes: N8, N6, N4, Stardust Stickles
Pencil: YR21, Y21, YR23, B99, R05, E53

Here's my project for this week.....a Pencil Box Holder!! I found this awesome template by Ilina Creations called First Day Ensemble. I knew when I saw it that I just had to have it!! I know I'll use this so many times throughout Isaiah's school years!! For this project, I did add an "eraser" and I used the insert to hold pencils. But I think it would be cute as a candy holder too (without the insert)!!

CropStop Supplies Used:
Core-dinations Cardstock
Scor-pal & Scor-tape
X-press It Blending Card
Copics
Stardust Stickles

I used Core-dinations Cardstock and I love it!! It has a textured surface and if you emboss with it, you can sand the embossing to reveal a different color in the core!! Here's a side view with the top opened.

And, a top view so you can see the insert which holds the pencils in the middle better. Of course this one is not filled up, so the pencils are falling to the side.

My little boy has since taken it over and added all sorts of stuff to the outside and inside!! He LOVED it as soon as he saw it all put together, and asked if he could have it. When I said yes (I know, I'm crazy), his eyes got all big and he said I was the best Momma ever!! Then he said I needed to take that girl image off, LOL!

He's hugging it, haha!

Now don't forget you have a week to play along with us!! Head on over to the CropStop blog to link up your "Back to School" card/project! And, remember you can get all your crafty needs/wants fulfilled in the CropStop Store!! There have been lots of new goodies going up so head over there and check them out!!

Have a great week and see you back here soon for more "Back to School" projects!

Hugs,
Rosie :)

CropStop Challenge #83: Go Fly a Kite!

Happy Thursday y'all! Can you believe it's already August?? Man, the summer went by really fast!! I don't even feel like we had a chance to do much this summer. Lately, we've been trying to squeeze in as many play dates as we can for our little guy. It's really bittersweet! He has some really amazing friends and we've gotten so much closer to them over the last few weeks, which makes leaving even harder. The packers come in less than a week and we'll soon be in Texas. School starts there on August 27th so at least we have a little time to get settled in.

Did you see that CropStop is having a Creative Team Call?? If you want to be part of an amazing team with some wonderful ladies then please, please apply! I would love to see some of you working along side of me. It'll be fun!! :)

This week at CropStop our challenge is:

GO FLY A KITE!
(use a kite on your project)

I found this gorgeous Saturated Canary image called "Windy Day" and knew she was perfect for this challenge. I love her beautiful, flowing hair! She took me forever to color with all the layers and detail, but I just love how she turned out! I printed her on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics and Stardust Stickles. I made the sky/grass background using Chalk. I also added some Sweet Pea Flower Soft to the grass area.

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, Chalk
Eyes: E39, E35
Lips: R22
Flower: RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09, G02, G09, Stickles
DRESS:
Dots: RV21, RV04, YR68, G02, B01, Stickles
Pink: RV06, RV04, RV02, Stickles
Green: G00, G02, G05, G07
Orange: YR02, YR68, Stickles
Blue: B00, B01, B02, B04
Scarf: G00, G02, G05, G07
Shoes: RV02, RV04, RV06
KITE:
RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09, E35, G05, G02, G00
Dots: RV21, RV04, YR68, G02, B01, Stickles

The textured pink cardstock is from Core'dinations, and the gorgeous dps came from a new paper pad I just recently purchased called DCWV "The Carnival Stack". I used a Martha Stewart Border Punch on the pink cardstock behind the center panel.

The corner die is from Whimsy Stamps and the embossed butterflies are from a Stampin' Up Emboss & Cut Die. My sentiment is from La-La Land Crafts. The flowers are WOC and Recollections and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

CHALLENGES ENTERED:
Designed to Color--Scene It!
Saturated Canary--The Great Outdoors!

CropStop Challenge #78--Blue and White Only

Happy Thursday y'all! I hope you are having a great week so far! I've been busy this week working on DT projects for CHA!! It's been a crazy month and will be even more hectic over the next few weeks and we figure out our quick move to Texas. What makes it even worse is the hubby had to go to training for a week so he won't be back home until tomorrow night. I'm having to stage our house, get DT projects done and entertain my 5-year old....YOWZERS!

The CropStop Challenge this week is:

Blue & White ONLY

I thought it would be difficult, but once I got Graduation Marci all colored up the rest of the card came together pretty quickly....and I didn't use any designer papers....can you believe it?!?!

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Lips: R22
Hair: E49, E47, E34
Cap & Gown: B21, B23, B24
White areas: N0, N2, Colorless Blender

I embossed the white cardstock with Cuttlebug Polka Dots. The blue panel behind Marci was embossed with Cart-Us Ornament Circles on Coordinations Cardstock. Then I sanded it and it exposed the white core....love it! The Filigree Corner Die is from La-La Land Crafts. The pearls are from Recollections. The ribbon and flowers are from my stash.

The white panel behind Marci was cut with Spellbinders Page Maps Jar Labels. I rubbed blue chalk around the inside border of the die and then rubbed Faded Jeans Distress Ink around the edges. Marci is raised on pop-dots.

You can play along with us by linking up your Blue & White creations to the CropStop Challenge Blog. Don't forget to check out the CropStop Store when you get a chance.....there are lots of great goodies!! And you can save an additional 10% on your order by using my discount code on the side bar. :)

Hugs,
Rosie

CropStop Challenge #77--Kid Birthday Card!

Happy Thursday y'all! Hope you're having a great week. Today is my little man's birthday!! He is officially 6 years old!!! We had his bday party last Saturday so he's a little confused that after the party he was still 5, LOL!

Here he is at his party blowing out his candles. I'm so proud to have this little boy as my son! He's the best thing ever and brings us so much laughter and joy! Love you my sweet baby!

Here's a pic of Isaiah with the next door neighbor. Cooper helped Isaiah open each and every present. You would have thought it was his birthday, LOL! Isaiah didn't mind though....I think he was happy to get to the present sooner, haha!

My awesome and talented niece, Kira, made him this Super Saiyan Birthday Card! She's so clever!!!

Today is also my sweet friend Jing's birthday!! Happy Birthday my friend!! She so amazing and talented!! You should stop by her blog HERE and leave her some love. :)

How appropriate that this week the CropStop Challenge is to create a Kid Birthday Card!

My little man is in Tae Kwon Do so this cute Karate Luka image worked perfectly on my card.
I stamped him on Copic X-Press It Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored him with Copics.

Copics:
Skin: E000, E01, E02, E11
Hair: E49, E37, E33
Headband & Belt: YR09, YR07, YR04, YR02
Black: 100, C7, C5, C3

My dps are from Echo Park. I cut the white circle for my Sentiment using Spellbinders Standard Circles and inked the edges with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. Then it was matted onto light blue cardstock cut with Spellbinders Ironwork Accents.

The glittery stars in the corners and under the sentiment are from The Paper Studio and the ribbon came from Michaels.

You can see in the side view that I raised the sentiment and Luka on pop-dots.

Now don't forget you can play along with us by linking your card up to the CropStop Challenge Blog! You have until next Wednesday to link up for a chance at winning a gift certificate to the CropStop Store.

Have a great week and see you back here soon!

Hugs,
Rosie :)

CropStop Challenge #76-BANNERS!

Happy Thursday y'all! How's your week going? It's almost Friday and I've got my little boys birthday party to plan on Saturday. His actual birthday is June 21st, but we're having his party this Saturday. I've got a lot on my plate these next few months!! I'll fill you in on another post....as soon as I know more of the details. :)

After Isaiah's birthday is my SIL's birthday, so I worked that into this week's CropStop Challenge which is

BANNERS!

I used the super CUTE La-La Land Crafts Sweetheart Marci. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored her with Copics. I also added lots of Stardust Stickles....my FAVE! I think I use it on everything!! You can't have enough bling, if ya know what I mean. :)

I found this AWESOME banner dp at Hobby Lobby. It's from The Paper Studio and I think I need to add lots of it to my stash....I LOVE IT!! In addition, it was the perfect find for this week's theme, don't ya think?! The edges got a coating of Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I just hand-wrote "Happy Birthday Brooke" on the pre-printed banner. The blue crystals are from Studio G. I added lace from my stash. Then I layered the GORGEOUS Turquoise Ruffle Edge Trim on top of the lace.

Don't forget to link up your "BANNER" creations to the CropStop Challenge Blog for a chance at winning a gift certificate to the CropStop Store! Hope to see your creations there!!

Hugs,
Rosie :)

CropStop Challenge #75--Monochromatic!

Happy Thursday Morning to ya! It's the first CropStop Challenge for June and I'm back on the roll-call, haha! I'll be one of the DT members posting for June so you'll see me here every Thursday this month. :)

The CropStop Challenge for this week is:

MONOCHROMATIC!

I had a hard time with this one! It's just so hard to do monochromatic when you see so many beautifully colored designer papers out there!! I eventually settled on using the beautiful papers from the Glitz "Pretty in Pink" 6x6 Paper Pad....this pad is one of my FAVES! I even used the papers for Darling Marci's dress and shoes!

I stamped Marci on Xpress-It Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored her hair and skin with Copics.

I used some Memory Box dies...Spring Border (along the bottom) and Quinn Flourish (not in the CropStop Store right now) behind Marci. I traced the metal die of the Quinn Flourish and cut it out to mat behind the flourish die-cut. The pink rose and pink fibers came from my stash. The pink lace behind Marci is from CTMH. The "Love" tag is from Tim Holtz.

The edges of the tag and papers are distressed with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Now don't forget you can play along with us by linking up your creation to the CropStop Challenge Blog for a chance at winning a CropStop Store gift certificate. You have until Wednesday evening to link up. Hope to see you there!!

Have a great week and see you back here soon!

Hugs,
Rosie

National Scrapbook Day Challenge at CropStop!

In honor of National Scrapbook Day, we challenge you to a SCRAPLIFT!

This is a two week special challenge.

Today, May 5, 2012, is National Scrapbook Day. National Scrapbook Day was started in 1994 by Creative Memories and is celebrated on the first Saturday every May. Since 1994 paper crafters everywhere celebrate their passion for scrapbooking and other paper projects on this day. Who knows, maybe this will be a national holiday some day!! :)

To celebrate this awesome day, the CropStop Creative Team challenges you to scraplift one of our posted projects on the CropStop Challenge Blog. Choose your project, create your own version of it, and link it using the link tool at the bottom of the CropStop Blog Post. The winner will be chosen by random draw on May 20th and posted in the blog on Monday, May 21, 2012. Prize is a $20 Gift Certificate to the CropStop Store.

Follow these simple guidelines to qualify:

1. Enter a newly created project that scraplifts one of the pictured projects on the CropStop Challenge Blog.

2. Label your project with your name and link it using the link tool at the bottom of the CropStop post.

3. Give the name of the person/project that you have scraplifted in your blog post.

Challenge deadline is Saturday, May 19, 2012 at midnight, U.S. East Coast Time.

For my featured project I picked this 12-drawer Easel Card Dresser that I made at the beginning of my CropStop journey back in February 2011. You can see the original post HERE with a link to the original tutorial and my corrections to some of the measurements.

This dresser has an easel card attached to the top. 12 drawers is a bit much, but you can always just make one big drawer instead. :) I hope you find the time to link up your "Scraplifted" project to the CropStop Challenge Blog for a chance at a $20 gift certificate to the CropStop Store.

Have a great, crafty weekend!

Hugs,

Rosie

CropStop Challenge #67-Birds

Good Morning everyone! If you are looking for my La-La Land Crafts New Release post, click HERE!

It's Thursday and time for another CropStop Challenge!

The theme this week is...

BIRDS

Before I get to my "Birds" project, I wanted to remind you of CropStop's second challenge going on right now based on the sketch below. You still have until April 30th to enter the Spellbinder/Becky Fleck Challenge for a chance to win Becky's Potpourri Dies from Spellbinder. You can view all the rules HERE!

Here's an 8x8 scrapbook page I started for my son's Tae Kwon Do Album. He's so excited I'm making him his own album! :) You can view details on this scrapbook page HERE!

Now, onto the current CropStop Challenge.....BIRDS!

I used this adorable (and NEW), Kimono Marci from La-La Land Crafts. I used X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics and chalk for her cheeks. Her dress is paper-pieced with Washi Paper and I added mini pearls for earrings. :)

Copics & Chalk:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, chalk
Lips: R22
Hair/Shoes: C7, C5, Black 100
Pink: R81, R83, R85
Umbrella: E31, E34, E35, R83, R85, B000, B02, B05, V15, V17

The background papers have cranes printed on them and I also made an origami crane to go in the bottom left corner for the bird theme. :) :)

For the center cardstock strip, I embossed it with one of the folders in the Plum Blossom Set, then I rubbed Worn Lipstick Distress Ink, Antique Linen & Walnut stain over the top.

Supplies Used:
X-Press It Blending Card
Copics
Chalk
Walnut Stain Distress Ink
Antique Linen Distress InkSpellbinders Labels Twenty-Three
Scor-tape
Cuttlebug Plum Blossom Embossing Set
Recollections Pearls
Washi Paper
CTMH Ribbon

Here's a side view so you can see the dimension. I raised Kimono Marci on pop-dots and also put pop-dots behind the SB Labels 23 cut-out.

I hope you join us for both our current challenges. Can't wait to see what you make!

Have a great week!
Hugs,
Rosie :)
