Happy Monday everyone! I'm back to share my coloring of Rockstar Singer using the current Make It Colourful Challenge "IN THE SPOTLIGHT". There is a video and of course DT Inspiration on the Make it Colourful Blog. I will say that this challenge was a little intimidating to me. I fought it and Zoe had to slap me upside the head to get me out of my shock mode, LOL! However, she gave me the confidence and support to try it, and of course, after it's all said and done I'm glad I pushed myself to give it a go. It was such a mental thing!! But what you have to do is just start coloring and not overthink it!!
Here are some tips I found helpful as I was coloring. The first thing I did was use a pencil to lightly draw an oval around the base of my image along with diagonal lines going up so I had a visual of where the spotlight would be. Then I googled spotlight images to get a feel of how to color the light and dark areas.
Next I just did my normal coloring of the entire image. On the stage I did lighter browns in the oval and used a darker brown outside the circle. Then I came in with black and grays to do the background. I colored this with a combo of Copics and Spectrum Noir Markers.
