Happy Tuesday everyone! Today I'm showing you how to put together a Pop-Up Box Card using Lawn Fawn Stamps and Dies. I know it looks a little intimidating, but I promise you it's not that difficult. I'll be sharing tips along the way to help you overcome your fear of putting this type of card together. If you have the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up Dies, and haven't used it yet, go grab it now. Your card recipient will LOVE you for gifting them a Pop-Up Box Card!
Let's get started!
Step 1: Cut two of the scalloped frame shapes to form the box.
Step
2: IMPORTANT: On one of the pieces, do NOT fold the large scallop flap.
That piece forms the back of the box card. Fold the other flaps.
Step
3: Put scor-tape or strong glue on the side flaps to glue the two
pieces together forming the box. The flat, scallop piece goes to the
back. Now your box is assembled....YAY!! See, I told you easy peasy!
Step
4: Cut two of these inside box pieces, and fold down the flaps. Put
scor-tape or strong adhesive on the flaps. These will be placed inside
the box.
Step
5. Start with one of the pieces and pull off the adhesive backing on
the scor-tape on one side. Stick that side to the edge of the box
towards the back of the box. I prefer to use scor-tape on these pieces
because it adheres right away. Next, line up the opposite side, pull off
the adhesive backing and gently stick it down. At this point you want
to fold the box flat to make sure the inside panel is lined up correctly
and the box folds flat. You may have to gently loosen the piece and
re-stick it down to get it to fold correctly. Repeat the same steps for
the 2nd inside piece. This is probably the hardest part of putting this
box together. Once you get it then it's smooth sailing from here on out.
Step
6: Now comes the FUN part....the decorating! First you want to cover
your box with decorative papers. I used Doodlebug Design Night Before
Christmas 6x6 Paper Pad. You can use the additional dies included in the
Lawn Fawn set to cut your patterned paper for the outside of the box or
you can use your paper trimmer (which is what I did).
Step 7: To decorate the inside of the box, I used Lawn Fawn Car Critters Stamps and Dies, along with Lawn Fawn Car Critter Christmas Add-on Stamps, Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Backdrop-Portrait (trees), and Elizabeth Craft Designs Village Edges (village backdrop behind trees).
