We got to work with some gorgeous fairies for our final projects. These beauties will be given out as FREEBIES for anyone who places an order this last week of business. I colored up Daisy Fairy!

That awesome You Are My Sunshine Chipboard in the bottom right corner is also from Make it Crafty. They are marked at 40% off so NOW is the time to grab your favorites!! I painted the top of the chipboard with white acrylic paint and then topped it with some Star Dust Stickles. Then, I backed it with some yellow paper to make it easier to read.

I used some fabulous digital paper from Mindy T Designs Studio called Sundrop. The flowers, of course, are from I Am Roses.

Don't forget, this is the last week to grab all the stamps and chipboard you love before November 30th! Thank you Zoe Mitc for all of your tutorials, instruction, and amazing support! I learned so much under you and will miss you in the crafty world tremendously!

The Greeting Farm Stamp Feature: GRATEFUL FOR YOU

Happy Wednesday friends! I'm back today for The Greeting Farm showcasing this newly released set called GRATEFUL FOR YOU. This set is absolutely beautiful and comes with two different sentiments along with various floral elements to create backgrounds or full stems for the focal point. I used one of the flowers and gold embossing powder to create the background.

I stamped the flower with the C.C. Designs Embossing Ink Pad on watercolor paper. Then I sprinkled Ranger Gold Embossing Powder over the top and heated it on my toaster again (because I can't find my heat guns, LOL!). To color in the flowers I used ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers in #25Pink and #40Green.

Be sure to head over to The Greeting Farm Store and grab your favorites! You're going to LOVE them all!

C.C. Designs Gingerbread Lane Gold Embossing Tutorial

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today, I'm sharing an embossing tutorial using various C.C. Designs products. I mentioned on a previous post that I love the look of gold embossing powder with red. I created a couple of cards at the beginning of November showcasing the Gingerbread Lane Clear Stamps with gold embossing HERE. I made a different card today using the same stamp set, but I also created an embossed background panel.

Step 1: Gather all your supplies. For this card I used Gingerbread Lane Clear Stamps, Gingerbread Lane Outline Die, a sentiment from the Christmas Swiss Pixie Clear Stamps, Embossing Ink Pad, and the Embossing Reinker. The Gold Embossing Powder is from Ranger.
Step 2: The little fabric pouch is an Embossing Buddy or Anti-Static Pouch. You rub this over your paper before inking to remove any static or fingerprint oil so your embossing powder sticks only to the embossing ink.
Step 3: Ink up your image with the Embossing Ink and stamp onto your cardstock.
Step 4: Next, cover the image with the Gold Embossing Powder.
Step 5: Shake off the excess onto a piece of paper (that has been creased in half). This will make it easier to pour the powder back into the container. This is what it looks like before it's been heat set.
Step 6: I moved over the summer from Texas to Oklahoma, and I'm still unpacking my craft room. I haven't yet found my heat gun, so I had to improvise and use my toaster to heat the image.  I heat the image from underneath so I can see when it's finished. The toaster will heat the powder and cause it to melt. You will see it turning shiny. If you used your toaster be sure to move your paper around, otherwise you will burn your paper from underneath. Paper burn is not as obvious on darker cardstock, but it will be obvious if you use white cardstock.
Step 7: Now for some extra fun! I rubbed the Embossing Buddy over the image again to remove any residual fingerprints. Next, I added several drops of the Embossing Reinker onto a plastic lid, and used a thin paintbrush to color in specific areas of the image that I wanted gold. This is a great option if you don't have an embossing pen. You can also fix mistakes using this method if you didn't stamp your image evenly.
Step 8: The darker areas are where I painted on the embossing reinker. This allows the embossing powder to stick to the areas I want to make gold.
Step 9: Pour the Gold Embossing Powder on top and then shake off the excess.
Step 10: You can see where the embossing powder has stuck to the areas I painted.
Step 11: And once again, I head back to the toaster to heat the image from underneath.
Step 12: Here is the fully embossed Gingerbread House.
Step 13: Next I created the background panel. I die-cut a stitched rectangle from white cardstock and rubbed the top with the Embossing Buddy. Then I stamped the candy cane and lollypop accessory stamps in a random pattern over the white cardstock using the Embossing Ink Pad. I poured the Gold Embossing Powder on top and heat-set it with my toaster.
Step 14: Once again, I rubbed the embossing buddy over the cardstock, and used a paintbrush to paint in certain areas with the embossing reinker. I poured the Gold Embossing Powder on top again, shook off the excess, and heated it once more over the toaster.
Step 15: To add color to the background panel, I used Copic R29 to color in parts of the image. I then backed the panel with a slightly larger piece of red cardstock.
Step 16: I decided to also emboss the sentiment. I used a sentiment that is part of the recently released Christmas Swiss Pixie Clear Stamp Set. I used washi tape to cover certain areas so I could get the sentiment on two lines instead of three.

And here is the finished card!
I hope this inspires you to try heat embossing! I always love the look...especially the red and gold!

Hugs,
Rosie

C.C. Designs Preview Day 1: MAKE A SNOWMAN METAL DIE

Happy Tuesday everyone! We are on Day 1 of Previews for the NOVEMBER RELEASE at C.C. Designs. The release will be available for purchase this Thursday at 12pm CST. The theme for this release revolves around winter. I know I say this every month, but you are really going to LOVE everything! There will be 4 new stamp sets, an adorable Make A Snowman Metal Die, and a new Paper Pad.

Today I'm previewing the most adorable snowman using the Make A Snowman Metal Die. The great thing about working with Metal Dies is the versatility. You can keep it easy-peasy by cutting the pieces from different colored cardstock and gluing together, or you can cut the pieces from white cardstock and color the pieces to achieve more depth. For this card, I decided to color him up using Copic Markers!

 Copics:
Snowman: BV20, BV23, C0, Colorless Blender
Red: R24, R27, R29, R39, R59
Arms: E43, E47
Nose: YR04, YR09, E19
Eyes: C10

Isn't he so much fun?!! I love him so much! To create this snow globe shaker card, I used pieces from the SugarPea Designs Snow Globe Die. I didn't have a circle large enough for the snowman, so I traced a CD. The sentiment is from a C.C. Designs set called Tiny Winter (which will be showcased tomorrow).

The decorative paper is from C.C. Designs Christmas Paper Pad. The ribbon is from Walmart.

Don't forget, there will be two Preview Day Mini Hops on the C.C. Designs Blog...one today and one tomorrow. Be sure to leave a comment on each DT post for ALL Preview Days for a chance at winning a $15 Gift Certificate to the C.C. Designs Store! The two winners will be announced on the C.C. Designs Blog on Thursday.

Happy Hopping!

C.C. Designs: Gingerbread Lane

The OCTOBER RELEASE from C.C. Designs was full of so much Christmas goodness! I love the entire release!! Now that it's getting closer to my favorite holiday, I've been inspired to try some different techniques. I love to heat emboss, but since we moved a lot of my craft stuff is still in boxes. I did some more unpacking and finally came across all my embossing powders...WOO HOO! I think gold embossed images on red cardstock looks so elegant so I decided I'd try to do something using this cute house from the GINGERBREAD LANE Clear Stamp Set.

The C.C. Designs Embossing Ink Pad is AMAZING! It's really juicy and adheres to the stamp exceptionally well! I stamped my image and sprinkled Ranger Gold Embossing Powder on top. After heat embossing the stamped image, I used a Versamark Pen and colored in certain areas. I then sprinkled more embossing powder on top and heat set it again to get more gold areas. Next, I added the sentiment. My final step was to use the Versamark Pen to color in areas that I wanted to be a little bit of a darker red on the cardstock.

I really loved how they turned out. Be sure to head over to the C.C. Designs Store and grab your favorite stamps and dies before they sell out! A new release will be coming out next week so stay tuned!

Hugs,
Rosie
