I'm so excited and thrilled to be a part of this amazing team! The ladies are all very talented and very supportive of each other! It's awesome!! I also LOVE that I'll have more opportunities to used some of these dies I've been collecting, or as my hubby says hoarding....hahaha! :)

I have been a lover of Gorjuss girls for a very long time, so I was thrilled when they came out with these awesome Gorjuss Paper Doll Dies! The great thing is that you don't have to color anything. The die set contains all of the separate pieces of the doll. It also comes with a few sheets of two different patterns of paper and a magnet sheet to store your dies on. The die set I'm working with today is called Fly Away With Me.

At the top of the magnet sheet, you can see the patterned papers included in this die set. There are 4 sheets of yellow and 4 sheets with the stripes. I cut the main shape and hair from black cardstock. Next, I cut the doll out of cream cardstock. The dress and balloon were cut from the yellow paper shown. If you look closely, you can see that the dress has little embossed stars. The die for the socks actually cuts out little rectangles so if you are cutting from solid cardstock it will form stripes. Since the paper included already had stripes, I traced around the sock die-cut with a pencil and used my scissors to cut out a new pair of socks.

I gave this doll some rosy cheeks using pink chalk. To distress the edges of her dress and socks (seen in the photo of the assembled doll), I used Black Soot Distress Ink. Next, I highlighted the embossed stars on her dress with the Uni-Ball Signo Pen-White. Finally, I used a Zig Glue Pen for the assembly process, starting with her socks and working my way up to her hair.

After assembling the doll, I glued her to the black silhouette piece. Then I added the white star to the balloon and glued that on last.

I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Die to create my starry background scene. The large "hello" was cut out using the Lawn Fawn Scripty Hello Die. The "Dropping By To Say" sentiment is from Lawn Fawn For You, Deer Stamps. To give the card some added dimension, I used Thermoweb 3D Foam Squares behind the girl, balloon, and sentiment.
Boom! A pretty easy die-cut card that required no coloring. :)
