Dies R Us: Waving Hello with Lawn Fawn Mermaid For You

Happy Thursday everyone! It's Rosemary here sharing this scene card I created with the Lawn Fawn Mermaid For You Stamps. I really enjoy creating scene cards, and the awesome selection at DIES R US gives me so many options!! I love that they carry Lawn Fawn Stamps! It makes creating a scene card easy and fun!

 +++++++++++++++++++++++++
The links to all of the products used from the Dies R Us Store are shown below. Here is a step-by-step of how I created this card. I started off using a few of the green Distress Oxide Inks to create the ocean bottom: Peeled Paint, Lucky Clover, Bundled Sage, and Forest Moss. I rubbed the inks onto the Ranger Craft Sheet. Then I spritzed the ink with water and slid my paper all over to get the first coat of color on.

The great thing about Distress Oxide Inks is that you can keep layering to get the desired effect. After I wiped off the mat, I swiped Lucky Clover and Forest Moss across the mat, spritzed water again and then just pressed certain areas of the paper onto the mat instead of swiping across so I could get more concentrated splotches.

Next, I stamped the images from the Mermaid For You Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto white cardstock, and colored them with markers. This stamp set also has Mermaid For You Coordinating Dies you can purchase so you don't have to fussy cut the images like I did. I definitely recommend getting the dies with this set! To get the stitched rectangle wave shape for the base of my card (top left), I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Backdrop Landscape Die. I also cut a piece of blue paper (top right) the same size as the die shape because I'm going to layer the Stitched Hillside Die-cut on top of that with foam squares for a raised effect.

For the green Distress Oxide Paper, I die-cut the bottom part of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside so I could layer that on top of the blue paper with foam squares. I used the Memory Box Wildflower Landscape Die to create the plant foliage behind the green hillside.

 I saw a cute turtle and smaller fish on the Memory Box Deep Sea Corner Die so I die-cut that out of the green paper, and then cut apart the pieces I wanted to add to my scene. That's the great thing about dies! They are really versatile!!
