Zoe challenged the team to use watercolors for our flowers for the monthly challenge on the Make it Colourful Challenge Blog. Once again this was difficult for me! I've never used watercolors, and since I'm visiting my mom I didn't have anything with me. I ended up buying Crayola watercolors at Walmart...probably not the best for a professional result, LOL!

I learned some things throughout the watercoloring process.
1.) I don't have the patience to watercolor, haha! Waiting patiently for layers to dry before adding more paint was tiring. However, my fellow DT sister, Andrea, said to use a heat gun to speed up the process! Yeah...that would have been nice to know ahead of time, hahahaha!
2.) It helps to watch some videos first.
3.) I found if I lay down a dark area first, let it dry, and then spread some of that color lightly outward, it works better for me. I didn't do that on the roses part. I figured that out when I did the leaves. I think if I had used watercolor pencils I would have liked it better.
4.) It helps to color in the background first.
5.) If you lay down too much color, you can re-wet the area and dab a napkin over the area to pick up the watercolor!

Now don't forget to head over to Marika's Blog to continue on with the hop! And we hope you join us in our month-long watercolor challenge HERE!

Hugs,
Rosie :)
