I Am Roses + Xyron + Love Cynthia

Happy Thursday everyone! Can you believe we are at the end of April already?! I know for some the time is dragging, but I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I feel like it's flying by! It's my turn to post for I Am Roses today, and I decided to do a different color scheme than usual. My hubby LOVES blue so I decided to make this card for him using blue and green. There is no special occasion. I just wanted to give him a card to thank him for being the best hubby ever!

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, E13
Hair: E42, E47, E49
Black: C3, C5, C6, C8, C10
Red: R24, R27, R29, R59
Blue: B02, B04, B05, B06
Green: YG23, YG25, YG67, G28

This adorable image from Love Cynthia is called HEART WORLD, and it's a FREEBIE!  I had these gorgeous blue sprays and flowers from I Am Roses and they fit the card perfectly! They really add a dramatic statement to any project! I used R43 white rose, blue cherry blossoms, small white and blue flowers, and tiny leaves. That blue spray though is my fave!

I recently received a goodie box from Xyron which included the Mega Runner, X150 Sticker Maker, along with refills. This Xyron Bundle is an awesome deal, and....the items are sparkly blue! I LOVE them! The adhesive on the Mega Runner is AMAZING and really sticky! I used it to put all my card layers together.

Remember, you have until MAY 8th to link up your project to the current I Am Roses Challenge. Be sure to use a minimum of 3 I Am Roses products on your card to qualify for a prize. I can't wait to see what you make!

C.C. Designs: Cupcake Swissie

Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you all are doing well. I've been on a baking and eating binge since the Stay at Home order is going on so I had to color up this adorable Cupcake Swissie from the C.C. Designs April New Release. I know I say this every release, but I am truly in love! Be sure to head over to the C.C. Designs Store to pick up yours today. The Swiss Pixies and Foxes are a must-have!

I stamped her on Xpress It Blending Card and colored her with Copics. I'm a huge Swiss Pixie fan and I'm so glad more are coming!

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E13
Hair: E42, E47, E49
Pink: RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09
Yellow: Y04, Y21, YR21, YR23, YR27
Teal: BG10, BG13, BG15, BG78
Shorts: RV04, RV09, BG13, C1, C3
Shoes: C0, C1, C2, C3

I really need to unpack some more and find my stamping platform because I can't seem to stamp a sentiment in a straight line, LOL! To finish off the card I just cut some decorative paper with a border die for the top of the card. I also raised Cupcake Swissie on foam dots for extra dimension.

Be sure to visit the C.C. Designs Store to grab your favorites! You're going to LOVE them!

Jaded Blossom: Earth Day Goodie Bags

Happy Wednesday everyone! I'm back with my last post for Jaded Blossom as the Guest for April. I had an amazing time using their stamps and dies! I hope you check out the Jaded Blossom Store and grab your faves. You will LOVE them! Thanks to all the ladies at Jaded Blossom for having me this month! It's been so much fun!

Today marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the annual celebration of the environmental movement. In 1970 about 20 million Americans assembled to demand greater attention to the protection of the planet. This year activities are being run differently due to COVID-19. You can find more information on the official Earth Day Website

I found some earth globe chocolates on Amazon and thought I'd make some Earth Day goodie bags. These cute bag toppers were created using the Happy Easter Gnomie Stamp Set and the grass border die from the Mushroom Die Set

Copics:
Skin: E000,E00, E01, E11
Hair: W0, W3, W5
Ears: C0, C1, C2, C3, R11, R20, R21, Colorless Blender
Blue: B23, B26, B28, B29
Plaid Hat: YG23, YG67, B23, B26
Sky: Broken China Distress Ink

The earth globe is a clipart I found online. I just printed it and cut it out. The grass border die and gnome are raised on foam tape. I created the sentiment in Word and printed it on each card. To do this, I printed it on regular copy paper and then taped each piece of paper on top of the sentiment and ran it through the printer again. If I knew what I was using as a sentiment beforehand, I would print them first and then ink up the cloud sky. I just LOVE how they turned out!!

Here's a closeup of one of the goodie bags.

Remember, you have until May 2nd to enter the current RAINBOW CHALLENGE for a chance at winning a stamp set of your choice! For more inspiration head over to the Jaded Blossom Blog! And be sure to check out the Jaded Blossom Store for all your stamps and gift giving supplies. They have various Cutting Dies to make party favors along with Favor Bags and Boxes.

Jaded Blossom: Unicorns & Glitter Mini Pizza Box with Cards

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm back sharing my last Guest Blog Post for Jaded Blossom. I've had an amazing time, and want to thank all the ladies at Jaded Blossom for having me this month! It's been so much fun coloring and creating projects using their products! You definitely need to check out the Jaded Blossom Store and grab your faves. You will LOVE them!

Today, I'm sharing a 4"x4" mini pizza box using the most adorable unicorn from the Unicorns and Glitter Stamp Set. You can do a google search to find a tutorial for the pizza box. It just uses one 6"x11" piece of paper (scored an inch from all sides and then at 5" and 6" on the long side of the paper). It's a really easy box to put together. I then made three mini 3.5" x 3.5" cards to go inside of the box.

To create the background clouds I cut several cloud borders from paper using a die-cut (you will want one border for each color so the colors don't mix as you are blending). The pastel clouds were created using Distress Oxide Inks.
TIP:
If you don't have a cloud border die cut, you can easily draw scallops free-hand on paper and then cut it out.
Also, if you don't have any of these inks, you can use chalk with a cotton ball or Q-tip! It's how I used to make clouds before I got the inks.

Copics:
Unicorn Body: C0, C1, C2, C3, C5, Colorless Blender
Ear: R11, R21, R22
Mane: Black, RV09, RV06, RV02
 Hooves: RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09
Horn: YR02, YR04, YR09. Y06, YR21, YR23, YG23, YG25, YG67,
BG34, BG13, V15, V17, R83, Star Dust Stickles

The grass at the bottom was created using one of the dies from the Mushroom Die Set. I stamped the sentiment onto the grass piece and then adhered it to the front of the box and mini cards using foam tape so it's raised up. I also put foam tape behind the unicorns. Next, I covered the sides of the box with rainbow striped paper.

For the inside of the box I cut a Scallop Square from pink cardstock and then a Stitched Square from decorative paper. I stamped another sentiment from the Unicorns and Glitter Stamp Set onto the pattern paper so when the recipient opens the box they have a greeting waiting for them. There is also another greeting at the bottom of the box (under the unicorns cards).

Jaded Blossom: I Hope Your Birtthday Is Pandariffic + Tutorial

Happy Monday everyone! I'm back today sharing a Panda Birthday Card along with a tutorial on how I created the background using die-cut and Distress Ink. This adorable panda from Jaded Blossom is part of the Pandas Are Awesome Stamp Set. I colored this cutie with Copics.

Copics:
Panda: C0, C1, C3, Colorless Blender
Eyes: B000, B95, B97
Pink: R81, R83, R85
Bamboo: YG23, YG67, E42

The background behind the panda was creating using die cuts and Distress Ink. You are going to be amazed at how easy it is! For the grass area, I used the grass die from the Mushroom Die Set and cut the grass border from paper. You will need to keep both sides of the cut-out. I used a cloud border die-cut to create the clouds and a circle die to cut the frame. If you use a die-cut that has a stitched border, you will want to cover the backside with tape so the ink doesn't go through the little holes. I forgot to do that step and you will see what happens later, haha!

STEP 1:
My total card size is 4.25 x 5.5. I originally started with that size of white cardstock, but (later after creating the scene) I trimmed it smaller so I could mat it with black paper). I cut a piece of tan cardstock 4.25 x 5.5 and then cut a circle from it. I didn't cut it exactly in the middle. I raised it towards the top so I would have room to stamp a sentiment. I used the grass die from the Mushroom Die Set and cut the green polka dot paper (I used pattern paper so it's easier to tell the difference in the pictures). You will need to keep both sides of the paper.

STEP 2:
Tape the 4.25 x 5.5 tan cardstock with the hole in the middle to your white cardstock with washi tape so it doesn't move around.

STEP 3:
Lay the "scrap" grass cut-away towards the bottom of the circle cut-out. I used a makeup toothbrush foundation blender brush to spread the Mowed Lawn Distress Ink using a circular motion. To get a smooth blend, ink up your blending brush and start the circular motion on the tan cardstock and move towards the white paper. Do multiple light layers to build up the color.

This is what the grass will look like when you pull the green paper away.

STEP 4:
Take the other grass die-cut and cover up the stitched lines on the back with scotch tape. Line it up to the area that was colored in green. You will now start blending Broken China Oxide Ink along the grass border die-cut.

This is what it looks like after you have layered the Broken China Distess Ink several times along the grass border. You can see in this photo that I forgot to cover the stitched lines on the back side of the grass die-cut so the blue ink seeped through the stitched holes and made marks on my green paper.

STEP 5:
I cut some white cardstock using a cloud border die and used it as my template for the cloudy sky. I line up the scallops in different arrangements and using the makeup brush I go along the top of the cloud border edge. When I get closer to the grass, I turn the cloud border upside down and ink it the other way so it "closes" off the the clouds.

STEP 6:
After you pull off the tan cardstock, you now have your inky scene! To try and fix the blue stitched lines on the grass. I took a wet paintbrush and went across the dots to lighten the blue. Then I went over the area with more green Distress Ink. It did leave a line, but once I added the Panda it looked more like a shadow underneath him so I didn't go back and start over.

 STEP 7:
I stamped the sentiment below the scene. I decided I wanted to add a black mat behind this panel so I trimmed it down. Then I added a black mat before placing it on the card base. The panda is raised on foam dots for extra dimension.

See you back here tomorrow with another card! Be sure to check out the Jaded Blossom Store for all your stamps and gift giving supplies. They have various Cutting Dies to make party favors along with Favor Bags and Boxes.

The Greeting Farm Stamp Feature: BE KIND

Happy Friday everyone! I seriously don't know how it's Friday already. I feel like it was just Monday. I'm stuck in some kind of fast-forward time warp! We are on the 2nd day of Stamp Features for the APRIL Release at The Greeting Farm, and today I'm featuring a set called BE KIND. I love these cute little fairies with the floral stamp. There are so many awesome combinations you can put together with this set. I colored the fairies with Copics and the flowers with Zig Watercolor Markers.

Copics:
Fairy 1:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, E13
Hair: E42, E47, E49

Hair: C2, C8, Black
Purple: V12, V15, V17

To create the watercolor panel, I traced a light circle and then stamped the floral image at the top and bottom with embossing ink. I sprinkled gold embossing powder on top and heat embossed them. Next I stamped one of the sentiments from the set in the middle with embossing ink. I took an embossing pen and drew in the lines. Then I sprinkled more gold embossing powder on top and heat embossed the sentiment and lines. I used Zig Watercolor Markers and a wet paintbrush to color the flowers. Once it was dry, I added the fairies on pop-dots.

The Greeting Farm Stamp Feature: BOBA ANYA

Happy Thursday everyone! Today is Day 1 of The Greeting Farm Stamp Feature showcasing new stamps from the APRIL Release. My card features BOBA ANYA and she is seriously adorable! I tried Taro Milk Tea with Boba last year from my favorite Pho place and it has become one of my favorite drinks ever! I don't know why I didn't try Boba Tea before that, but now I'm addicted. During this quarantine, hubby and I had to order tapioca pearls, taro powder, and matcha powder online so we could make boba tea at home because we can't order it anywhere right now. He's become quite the mixologist lately, and has totally mastered the formula!

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, E13
Hair: RV04, RV09, Black
Shirt: YG23, YG25, YG67
Skirt: RV02, V15, B12, Y11, YG25, Star Dust Stickles

Star Dust Stickles

The awesome boba digital paper and clipart are from Mindy Terasawa Design Studio. I don't currently see this kit in the store, but maybe she'll add it if there is enough interest.

I had so much fun coloring this CU-TEA up! I can't wait to see what you create using stamps from The Greeting Farm. And if you didn't see yet, Marie designed a bunch of new digital images too! Be sure to head over to The Greeting Farm Store and grab your favorites. You're going to LOVE them all!

C.C. Designs: Watercolor Rain Tutorial

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today I'm sharing a tutorial on how I created the watercolor rain background for this C.C. Designs Umbrella Swissie Card that I showcased a couple of weeks ago.

I remember a few years ago there were a ton of crayon melting tutorials going around creating "rain" around a silhouette of a person holding an umbrella. I knew I wanted to recreate something like that when I saw this umbrella image. A lot of my craft stuff is still in boxes from moving, and I haven't yet located my stash of crayons or my heat gun. I decided to recreate the idea using my Zig Clean Color Watercolor Markers. Here are the steps!

Step 1: Grab the watercolor makers you want to use. Here I'm using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in: Light Carmine, Pink, Wine Red, Carmine Red, Scarlet Red, Orange, Yellow, Light Green, Deep Green, Turquoise Green, Persian Blue, Blue, Violet, and Light Violet.

Step 2: Cut a piece of watercolor paper into a 5.5 x 5.5 square and use blue painters tape to make a border at the top. I usually press my tape onto the couch or my leggings or shirt to fuzz it up a bit so it's not so sticky. This is to prevent the tape from tearing the paper.

Step 3: Add lines of the watercolor marker at the top. Don't add any water yet. I don't measure the lines. I just eyeball it to get about the same width.

Step 4: Pull of the blue painters tape.

Step 5: Stamp your image onto masking paper or sticker paper. I could only find sticker paper in my stash. Cut around the top of the umbrella, but leave a border around the body of the image to prevent the watercolor from getting close to the body. After peeling off the backing, I add fuzz to the back like I did the painters tape so the adhesive is not as sticky (otherwise this will stick to your paper and you will tear your paper trying to get it off).

Step 6: Place the sticker where you want it on the watercolor paper.

Step 7: Now grab your paintbrush and water and a paper towel.

Step 8: Add a big blob of water on the first strip of color and let it drip down. If it doesn't want to drip, just guide the blob with your paintbrush all the way down the paper.

Step 9: When it gets to the bottom, you will need to blot it on the paper towel.

Step 10: Go down the line and add blobs of water for each color. I usually take the paintbrush to guide the lines and scribble them down to the bottom of the card so it's not a straight line. If you need more color, take your marker and add color where you want it and use your wet paintbrush to blur the lines.

Step 11: When you get to the umbrella area, use less water. Also use your paintbrush to pull the color around the sides of the umbrella a little.

Step 12: Once the paper is dry, carefully pull your masked image off the paper.

Step 13: Stamp and color your image, fussy cut it, and put your card together.

I hope you give this technique a try! Have an awesome week!

Rosie
