Little Miss Muffet Stamps~Polka Dot Pals ROMEO

Little Miss Muffet Stamps

Phew.....it's been a crazy, busy week for me. This is my last card to share for this week and then I'm taking a weekend break, haha! Next week will be another busy week for me so I hope you stop back by to see what I'm up to. :)

Today I'm sharing another Valentine's Day card. This time it's a simple boy card. Yesterday started a new challenge on the Little Miss Muffet Challenge Blog. The theme is: ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE. I hope you get a chance to join us!!

My card features this handsome guy called Polka Dot Pals ROMEO. Isn't he a cutie?! He's stamped on X-Press It Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copics.

 Copics:

It's almost February so I'm working on my Valentine's Day cards. It's hard to believe January is almost over...where did it go? C.C. Designs recently release some adorable Valentine/Love themed stamps so I had to use this cutie called Swiss Pixie Cupid...LOVE her!!

I used some gorgeous dps from Echo Park SPLENDID SUNSHINE 6x6 Paper Pad. The fushia burlap flower is from Petaloo.

GiraffedawebsiteHimalayanpoppydawebsite

For my card today, I used the Himalayan Poppy Stamp. Most Himalayan Poppies are blue, but I decided to color these poppies the traditional red and I think it works. :) These flowers are so gorgeous!! I was a little intimidated to color them up, but once I started going it all fell together.

Copics:
Red: R22, R24, R27, R29, R59
Green: G21, G28, YG23, YG67, C7
Inside of poppies: C7, Black

I kept my card pretty clean and simple because I wanted the flowers to stand out. I embossed the white cardstock with Crafter's Companion Petite Dot 6x6 Embossing Folder. The word Beautiful is the Simon Says Beautiful Craft Die.

Now, on to our fabulous HOP!! If you get lost along the way, here is the order . . .
Your next stop after me is RHEA!! She's going to blow your socks off!! Be sure to comment on each blog, because 2 of them hold the prize. What is the prize???  Two lucky winners will win 2 stamps from the hop. The winner will be announced on Sunday, FEBRUARY 1st at 8:00 pm est.

Zoe challenged the team to use watercolors for our flowers for the monthly challenge on the Make it Colourful Challenge Blog. Once again this was difficult for me! I've never used watercolors, and since I'm visiting my mom I didn't have anything with me. I ended up buying Crayola watercolors at Walmart...probably not the best for a professional result, LOL!

I learned some things throughout the watercoloring process.
1.) I don't have the patience to watercolor, haha! Waiting patiently for layers to dry before adding more paint was tiring. However, my fellow DT sister, Andrea, said to use a heat gun to speed up the process! Yeah...that would have been nice to know ahead of time, hahahaha!
2.) It helps to watch some videos first.
3.) I found if I lay down a dark area first, let it dry, and then spread some of that color lightly outward, it works better for me. I didn't do that on the roses part. I figured that out when I did the leaves. I think if I had used watercolor pencils I would have liked it better.
4.) It helps to color in the background first.
5.) If you lay down too much color, you can re-wet the area and dab a napkin over the area to pick up the watercolor!

Now don't forget to head over to Marika's Blog to continue on with the hop! And we hope you join us in our month-long watercolor challenge HERE!

Hugs,
Rosie :)
